Candidate Statement

Chugach members/consumers have a huge stake in Board decisions. These decisions affect utility bills and capital credits owed to you. Trusted by Anchorage Mayors Sullivan, Begich, and Wuerch on energy issues, I offer experience with:

• Corporate Planning – 3 years
• Alaska Public Utilities Commission – 8 years
• ML&P Commission - 5 years
• Senior Utility Management – 12 years
• Economic Consulting Services – 8 years
• Member, Mayor Sullivan’s Energy Task Force
• Board Member, Consumer Energy Alliance-Alaska

Your Board of Directors should never lose sight of the critical environmental, energy supply, and economic issues we face. We will keep the lights on and control costs. Investment in a balanced energy policy promises stable prices, a safe environment, and efficient energy use. I have presented gas supply workshops, worked with Alaska utilities on strategic plans and the state’s energy plan, and reviewed the financial stability of various companies. Chugach needs to remain competitive for capital, labor, and customers. Together with other utilities, government agencies, and consumers, we can maximize benefits and minimize costs for cooperative members. I look forward to continuing to advance our community’s energy delivery and use policies and appreciate both your dialogue and your vote.
